Georgia

We arrived in Macon, GA on Sunday and parked our motor home in my cousin Even's yard.  This is the best campground in the area.   I love my Georgia relations.

This Weeks Project

Scotty and Jim have been working on some projects together. Jim's hot water heater and a switch for their fireplace.  And for us....  a new TV.  We traded a campers hammock for this 36" TV.  Jim's son-in-law gave him a new one so it needed a new home.

Together Again

It was 294 miles from Dothan, AL to Welaka, FL.  It was an easy drive. However, since we drove into another time zone (EST) it took an extra hour.  I do not like Eastern time.  It gets dark earlier, light earlier, the good TV shows are on late.  Wait a minute... What good TV shows?  Anyway, I like the Central time zone more.
Jim & Linda were waiting for us when we arrived at Welaka Lodge & Resort.  Jim is a work camper here.  After a short tour of the grounds we could understand why they liked it so much.
Linda made us a nice dinner and we made short work of 3 bottles of wine.  All too soon it was dark outside and time to say Good Night.

Lots of wild flowers to enjoy on the drive down

Jim & Scotty tired to set up our dish.  They did not succeed

Alabama to Florida & Good Friends

After we left Houston we drove a couple of days and made our way to Dothan, AL.  Pat and Vern Shearer are staying there and since it had been a month since we last saw them, we stopped for a couple of nights at Pecan Point RV park.
Soon after we were set up, they came over and picked us up for dinner.  We went to the Olive Garden and had a good time catching up.  Then they drove us around and showed us the sights.
Then we went back to our Motor home and had a few drinks and a lot of laughs.  It was so good to see our friends.
On our second day there, Pat & I went shopping while the guys just hung out.  We had dinner out again and then it was time to say "Good Bye"

4 Days in Houston

We left San Antonio and drove to Westlake RV Resort on the west side of Houston.  Our friends Lauren & Dave are using this park for their home base.  Lauren had dinner ready when we arrived and we enjoyed good food and good friends.
On Friday we spent the day at NASA's Houston Space Center .  It was amazing.  A must see for anyone visiting Houston.

We learned that they give free tours of the Houston Shipping Channel so we signed up.  It was hard to find the loading area.  The GPS didn't want us to get there on time, but we didn't give up and Dave was able to get us there in time.

After the boat ride, we stopped at the Art Car Museum.  The admission was free and it was so cool!  We just kept looking and looking at the  cars.  I took a lot of pictures, but I will only post a few here.

Dave and Scotty also went to an airshow at a small airport near by.

San Antonio

We were happy to be able to spend a week with our dear friend Susan in Helotes, TX.
Scotty did a roofing repair for her while we were there.  We all had so much tar on us that it's a wonder we ever got clean...
