More on the trip home....

We were sad to leave Kentucky.  We miss Donna and Dale and all the fun we had.  And we wish we had another Derby Pie to help us to get over it.

We drove through some beautiful horse country on our way north.  Spring was in full swing.
The black barns in Kentucky were originally "painted" with creosote to protect the wood from termites.  The fences were also "painted" to keep the horses from cribbing (chewing on the wood).  Now it just seems to be the custom.

We decided to spend an extra night in Lancaster Camp Ground in Lancaster, PA to avoid a cold front that had high gusting winds.  It was a peaceful small campground with only 25 sites.  There were only about 5 of us there.

We decided that we may as well just drive the next 3 days so that we could arrive in Vermont on Friday.

We stayed at Wierner's RV right off the highway.  The sites were big.
There was still snow left from the storm that was 3 days ago.  Brrrrr!

Tonight we are at River Bend Campground in Milford, PA.  We usually stop here.  It's right on the Delaware River and not crowded this time of year.

Tomorrow we will be back in West Haven.  We'll be busy cleaning up from the winter and mowing the lawn, getting it ready to try to sell.  But best of all we'll be spending time with family and friends that we have missed all winter.

  1. Nice pics guys. We miss Kentucky also. Very cold here back home. Don't work too hard this summer and enjoy the family.

  2. We have been following your trek home, and are glad to see you made it safe and sound.

Looks like you might have a busy summer, working on your property, but that is usually very rewarding as well.

Enjoy your time with family, and take care !!

    Hugs, TnT
